Num Domingo extremamente frio e cinzento, os Vikings foram derrotados pelos Helios, naquele que foi o segundo jogo da Taça Fegabe, disputado em Lugo (Espanha). O resultado de 10-0 a favor da equipa espanhola demonstra a superioridade defensiva dos Helios, que limitou a equipa de Vila do Conde/Póvoa de Varzim a apenas um hit, ironicamente conseguido pelo seu pitcher André Silva .
Apenas na 4ª inning surgiu a primeira oportunidade para pontuar dos Vikings. Com corredores em primeira e segunda e um out, João Azevedo foi groundout e Hugo Silva, na sua estreia como Rightfield pelos Vikings, saiu eliminado da mesma forma, deixando dois corredores pregados às bases.
Na 5ª inning, nova oportunidade: Hermínio Neto, chegou à terceira base, mas não foi empurrado para casa por nenhum dos seus colegas.
A derradeira chance para marcar surgiu na 6ª inning, mas a line drive de João Azevedo foi superiormente apanhada pelo 2ª Base dos Helios, Carlos Vázquez, deixando Jorge Castañeda parado na segunda base.
Os pitchers André Silva e Jorge Castañeda combinaram para sete hits sofridos, quatro bases por bolas, seis strikeouts e um home run, vindo do taco de John Morris no fecho da 4ª inning, contra Castañeda.
Para além do descalabro ofensivo, os sete erros de fielding dos Vikings voltaram a ter um peso importante no desfecho do jogo. Os Helios, apesar da fraca média de batimento (.219), rolaram para uma vitória fácil neste encontro.
Os Vikings (0-2) voltam a jogar no próximo dia 15 de Abril, Domingo, às 11h00, em casa frente aos Druidas da Corunha, onde irão tentar chegar à primeira vitória na competição.

In an extremely cold and cloudy Sunday, the Vikings were beaten by the Helios, on the second game of the team for the Fegabe Cup, a game played in Lugo (Spain). The final score of 10-0 in favor of the spanish reflects a better defensive performance from Helios, limiting the team from Vila do Conde/Póvoa de Varzim to only a hit, ironically, from its pitcher André Silva.
The first scoring opportunity for the Vikings came only on the 4th inning. With runners on first and second and one out, João Azevedo grounded out and Hugo Silva, making his debut at rightfield for the Vikings, went out the same way, leaving two runners stranded.
On the 5th inning, new opportunity: Hermínio Neto reached third base, but was not driven in by any of his teammates.
The last chance to score came in the 6th inning, but the line drive hit by João Azevedo was caught by Helios second baseman Carlos Vázquez, leaving Jorge Castañeda on second base.
Pitchers André Silva and Jorge Castañeda combined for seven hits allowed, four walks, six strikeouts and a homer, hit by John Morris on the bottom of the fourth inning, against Castañeda.
In addition to the offensive blunder, the seven fielding errors proved to be costly to the Vikings in this game. The Helios, besides hitting only .219, rolled to an easy win.
The Vikings (0-2) will play again at home on April 15th, Sunday, at 11 a.m, against de Corunha Druidas, where they will try to win for the first time on this competition.
